Purchase Orders

Adagio JobCost 6.8B is not fully integrated with Purple's Purchase Orders for Adagio (POA) 1.1.0.14. If your clients make extensive use of the Job Costing / Purchase Orders interface, we recommend they delay their conversion until Purple has released an upgrade compatible with Adagio JobCost.

Limitations when running POA with Adagio JobCost:

POA only supports entry of a 4 digit job number that it validates against the ACCPAC Plus Job Costing (Plus-JC) files. To run Adagio JobCost with POA, you will have to stay with 4 digit job numbers, and enter new jobs in both Plus-JC and Adagio JobCost.

POA also only supports entry of 2 digit phase and 4 digit category numbers.

POA only updates the Amount on PO in Plus-JC. If these numbers are important to you, the updated figures will have to be entered into Adagio JobCost manually. An easy technique is to create a GridView view into Plus-JC, then export to Excel and import into Adagio JobCost.

POA directly creates a cost batch in Plus-JC. This batch would have to be re-keyed into Adagio JobCost. It might be possible to export/import these figures, but this would be more complicated that the previous export/import.

Converting Plus-JC to Adagio JobCost for POA users:

Before converting Plus-JC to Adagio JobCost, a day end must be run in POA.

Adagio JobCost provides a perfect conversion of your clients Plus-JC data and saves all the old Plus-JC files in a file called AJJCxxx.ZIP (where xxx is the data selector) in the data directory. The converted Plus-JC files are removed to prevent anyone using the old DOS program inadvertently.

To work around the limitations in the table above, the Plus-JC files must be unzipped back into the Plus-JC directory.

Limitations when running PO Tracker with Adagio JobCost:

PO Tracker from Island Microsystems does not integrate with Plus-JC, so you are unlikely to run into similar issues at those sites.

Integration with Adagio JobCost is planned in a future release.
