There's a wealth of item information provided here, starting with the Profile tab. This tab displays the basic item information, such as the item number and description, and some default settings like the item's tax status.
Then we have several additional tabs:
The Units/Pricing tab displays stocking unit, pricing unit, and costing unit data, along with alternative units. And, it includes the pricing system for the item. Is it a discount or markup item? What are the pricing levels?
The Sales/Shipping tab contains sales information such as the item's base price, previous price, and sales price; plus shipping information like last shipment date, last receipt date, and some statistical data.
The Quantities tab lists all of the locations allowed for the selected item, and lets you know the quantity on hand at each one, along with picking sequence and other data. It also provides grand totals on the numerical data at the bottom of the window, for quick reference.
The Vendors tab displays the primary and secondary vendors for the item.
The Alt Units/Pricing tab provides data on alternate units and pricing that should be used when the item can't be shipped in the requested unit of measure.
The Alt Items tab lists any alternate items associated with this item. Alternate items are shipped in place of "out of stock" items.
The Notes tab lets you read any notes that have been entered about this item, such as comments about supplier issues.
