Compatible with Adagio Lankpaks 8.1A. Lanpaks must be 8.1A for all Adagio 8.1A modules.

Adagio download files, installs, workstation installs, all workstation install (\softrak\allwkst\allwkst.exe), and the Adagio Check System utility (chksys.exe) are now signed with a digital certificate using VeriSign to allow you to verify the Publisher is Softrak Systems Inc.

Vista does not support the old style Windows Help (.HLP files). All .HLP files were converted to compiled HTML help (.CHM files), which are supported by Vista.

For security reasons Windows does not permit .CHM help files to be run from a network drive. This is true in XP as well as Vista. The .CHM files must be run from a local drive. Adagio 8.1A installs all .CHM help files to your local hard drive and loads them from there. The workstation install also copies .CHM files to the local drive.

When switching window/task in Vista with Alt-Tab or the new Flip 3D (Windows-Tab) an image of the current Adagio screen is shown rather than just the icon of the Adagio program.

Refer to the Readme help file for details of enhancements and revisions in earlier versions.

To install Adagio GridView Server from the Adagio Product CD, you need the serial number and install code from the Product Label that came with your CD.

To install Adagio GridView Server (or an upgrade), insert the CD in the drive If the install program does not start automatically, run ADAGIO.EXE from the root of the CD. Once the install program is running you can click the View button for detailed instructions in the Readme help.

Adagio GridView Server must be installed from the actual physical server. It cannot be installed from a workstation. Unlike other Adagio products, a workstation install is not required and none is provided.

After installing GridView Server it must also be installed as a service on your server (or run in console mode). Refer to the manual or product help for instructions.

Before installing an upgrade to 8.1A, the GridView Server service must be removed. Use gswin -remove to stop and remove the service. Note: the gswin -remove command used in versions prior to 8.1A can no longer be used in the 8.1A version.

Before installing a Service Pack for 8.1A or reinstalling the 8.1A product, the GridView Server service must be removed. Use the Windows' Service Controller command to remove the service.

sc delete gswin.

Note 1: Adagio GridView 8.1A or higher is required to use this release of GridView Server. Earlier versions of GridView are not compatible with this release of GridView Server.

Note 2: GridView Server is compatible with Microsoft severs up to 2003. GridView Server is not compatible with Novell® or Linux servers.

The command "gswin -install [auto]" used in previous versions can no longer be used in 8.1A. It no longer installs the GridView Server service. To install the service in 8.1A you must use the Windows' Service Controller command (sc.exe). See the readme help or the 8.1A manual for details.
