The 8.1A (2007.08.24) release of FX only retrieved from QuickBooks Enterprise. When retrieving from non-Enterprise versions you received the message "[QODBC] Only Licensed for use with Enterprise Version. Please contact your dealer for an upgrade." FX now works with all non-Enterprise versions and an upgrade to QODBC is not required.
On a newly created dataset the sample specifications were not created and the default Chart of Accounts, Account Groups, Departments, and Statement Groups were not initialized in the Financial Reporter.

Vista does not support the old style Windows Help (.HLP files). All .HLP files were converted to compiled HTML help (.CHM files), which are supported by Vista.
For security reasons Windows does not permit .CHM help files to be run from a network drive. This is true in XP as well as Vista. The .CHM files must be run from a local drive. Adagio 8.1A installs all .CHM help files to your local hard drive and loads them from there. The workstation install also copies .CHM files to the local drive.
When switching window/task in Vista with Alt-Tab or the new Flip 3D (Windows-Tab) an image of the current Adagio screen is shown rather than just the icon of the Adagio program.
You can now backup Adagio data in zip form to WebSafe, a web-based storage facility. WebSafe is a service which allows you to store your important information in a secure location that you can access from anywhere in the world. See www.websafe.com for details.
The formatting of dates and text containing numbers sent to Excel from Smart Finder results has been improved.

When a single row is selected, it can be duplicated in a single action by selecting "Duplicate row" from the right mouse button menu.

When retrieving from Adagio Ledger or ACCPAC® PlusT General Ledger databases with FX 8.0C (2004.06.16) you received the error ""Error Internal Error: field [41] of @L68BGLO] is not a Boolean field, occurred when attempting to read next record in AF global.". The retrieve was otherwise successful and FX functioned correctly.
The browse button on some dialogs in the Financial Reporter and on the EZTasks dialog did not work on some Windows 98 machines.
Links to the web from the Readme help are now working in all cases.

You can now define entire groups of financial statements to print without operator intervention.
A new SmartSheet command ".RowFormat" allows you to apply any formatting desired to generated rows.
When creating a departmental comparative, you can now create a column that sums just the departments you have selected.
".RangeDept" in column A of a Smartsheet will expand the specified account range once for each department in the range, without altering the account range specified.
An option has been added to the drag-and-drop format dialog to insert a thin column between numeric columns.
When turning on "Zero suppress", the Financial Reporter now also hides the zero rows on the financial statement you are viewing, not just on the print preview.

The importing of accounts and transactions from other systems has been significantly improved.
Import functions write errors to a log file (GLIMPERR.xxx, where xxx is your company data extension).
Defaults fields in import templates are now validated during import.
If you copy your database do another directory, the path to the import file in the default import template is automatically updated to the new path.
The default file names for import and export templates have changed.
Export Accounts no longer permits you to set the option "Export figures as" when not appropriate. It always defaults to "Net changes'.
When importing accounts with 'Add new records' off, the 'Account type' field is no longer a required field in the import file.
When importing batches, only the 'String' type worked for date fields. The 'ASCII - YYYYMMDD' and 'Date' types now work.
The import functions now show the field name and other details in error messages even if 'Validate before importing' is not set.
If the 'Validate before importing' option was on, and there was an error in the import file, the program closed in some cases.
If the Account Code is invalid in an import batch, the error message said the Department Code was invalid.
The import functions now check for invalid dates in all cases.
Importing accounts to a departmentalized GL with the 'Validate' option on and where the import file did not include the current balance caused a integrity error.
Import failed in some cases if the last field on a line in the import file was empty quotes.
The import functions now strip leading zeros from account and department fields in the import file.
In some cases, files containing a comma in a string field could not be imported.
In some cases, there was an error when importing when string fields contained a comma.

"Use existing fiscal calendar" has been added as an option when retrieving account data; allows you change the fiscal ending dates away from the month end when retrieving data from Simply Accounting or QuickBooks.
The account type was being incorrectly set when classes were being retrieved from QB datasets.
When retrieving figures from QuickBooks datasets, the COGS account would be out of balance when Inventory was in use.
QBB (QuickBooks Backup) files are no longer displayed in the Retrieve dialog.
When retrieving budget figures from Simply Accounting, the amounts retrieved are now adjusted when departments are used.
Retrieving a new set of figures was resetting the Account Group tree in the Financial Reporter.

Earlier versions of Adagio FX 2003 8.0A did not support 13 period fiscal calendars.
You received an error if you tried to open a Simply Accounting or QuickBooks database directly from FX rather than creating an FX database and retrieving. The error message has been changed to explain the problem.
Adagio FX now installs an empty FX database in \SOFTRAK\AFWIN\DATA. This allows you to immediately retrieve your accounting database to FX after installing the product.
