Installs the AdagioPDF printer driver. All reports and printouts from Adagio can be printed to the AdagioPDF printer to create a PDF document in the data folder.
Supports the features in Adagio ePrint. When ePrint is installed you can print reports to PDF files in configurable folders determined by the Report Type (General or Transaction). Fields can be embedded to establish the file and folder names (User, Session Date, System Date, Time). Click the ePrint button (red "EP" icon) on any report dialog to print the report to PDF. The Paperless Reports option forces all reports to be printed to PDF. Reports can be printed to PDF and attached to an email (MAPI) with a single button click.
Report Favorites allow saving Reports with specific options chosen. Click the Favorite button (a star icon) on any report dialog to create a Favorite. Favorites for a report can be accessed from the report dialog in a drop-down field. Private Favorites are yellow, Public Favorites are blue. Added Favorite Reports and Print/Delete Favorites functions to the Reports menu. Multiple favorites can be defined for the same report. Favorites can be private to the Adagio user or public for use by all users.
Report Sets allow the grouping of Report Favorites and Online Inquiry summary and detail reports into a single print job that will run unattended. Report Sets may be printed to printer or PDF files. Report Sets may be launched from a command file or a scheduled Windows task by running SalesAnalysis.exe with the parameter /R followed by the Report Set (ex. /RMonEnd). A progress dialog lists the reports in the Report Set, the printing status of each, the destination folder, filename and conflict strategy. A log is generated that records the printing status of each report in the set. Use Report Sets to automate the printing of all your daily or month end reports.
On the Open database dialog you can now use Alt-B to open the browse and Alt-F (for Favorites) to open the previously opened list. In previous versions you had to use the mouse to select the folder buttons.
Alt-X now selects the Excel Direct button on grids where it is available. In previous versions you had to use the mouse to select Excel Direct.
You can now exceed the 168 character limit in an Online Inquiry when it is being used to ExcelDirect the results, as there is no width limit in Excel. A warning is issued you try to print a report and the fields will wrap to an extra line.
The vitalEsafe upload progress dialog has been improved and the progress bar now accurately shows the percentage. It is no longer necessary to install the vitalEsafe patch.
Problems Fixed
The Retrieve Sales Data and Scan Sales Data functions in SalesAnalysis 9.0A trimmed leading spaces from the Item Number of multi-segment items. There was no problem for items that did not have a space as the fist character of the Item Number.
The Online Inquiry report bar charts had incorrect values for Territory.
In SalesAnalysis 9.0A, the Item Description showed as asterisks in the On-line Inquiry summary when it should not have if the 'Use desc from SRTRANS' option was on in the Company Profile. In 9.0B, the Item Description from the 1st transaction detail for this item is displayed in the summarized view.
In the Edit Sales Data function in SalesAnalysis 9.0A, if you changed a record and clicked the Next button instead of the OK button, after receiving the prompt asking if you wanted to save the changes an error message was displayed and the next record was deleted.
There was a problem in SalesAnalysis 9.0A sending data to Excel Direct. After, if Pivot Tables in Excel 2007 or 2010 were used to summarize, the resulting values displayed as a ‘1’.
If you exported more the 65,535 transactions to an Excel file the progress bar displayed a percent higher than 100, although if you exported to a .xlxs the file was complete (.xls files for Excel 2003 and earlier are limited to 65,535 rows in any case).
When converting data to 9.0A the message "Error adding record to Adagio Sales Analysis 9.0 Transactions, record already exists." was encountered in rare cases where transactions had a blank dates from some earlier problem with the database. The conversion now handles and corrects these bad records.
For filters based on a range of a right-justified field (such as customer number, single segment item number, etc.), additional records were selected that should not have been. For example, if the range is from 1 to 2, then not only would records 1 and 2 be selected, but also 10, 11, 100, 101 etc. You will need to edit and save any such existing filters to correct them.
The Find did not work correctly for selecting a customer with a leading zero in the Name field, such as for a numbered company.
SalesAnalysis displayed the error "2018 Error field number invalid" in some cases when you started the program if you use Adagio Invoices 9.0A but do not have Adagio Inventory installed.
When installing Adagio to a computer or server where no Adagio modules had previously been installed, if you installed an Adagio module that does not use the Crystal print engine first (such as Lanpak or GridView), when you installed SalesAnalysis you received the error "Adagio has been established on destination folder: [x:\SOFTRAK]. Yet the install cannot detect the corresponding Reports Tables..." and were unable to proceed. If the first module installed uses the Crystal print engine there was no problem.
The updated version of vitalEsafe no longer triggers a workstation install if it has already been installed by the workstation install for another Adagio module. This is also the case when installing Adagio for use with Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services in Windows Server 2008 and previous versions).
When running any Adagio module that installs vitalEsafe (or WebSafe as it was previously known as) on a Windows 7 (or Vista) station, in some cases the auto-workstation install ran every time you started the application, even if you had done a workstation install. This happened if the user was not an Administrator on their own machine (the default for a new computer) but rather a Standard user, and User Account Control (UAC) was on, and you had not installed any module with a release date of October 2011 or later and done a workstation install for it on the station. This has been resolved. To resolve this problem for ALL other modules, install any module with a release date of October 2011 or later and do a workstation install for it on the station.

The changes and improvements to Adagio SalesAnalysis with this release are significant. To make it easier to review the various changes that have been made, we have grouped them by function in this release note.
Generic New Features
- A charting subsystem has been added to Adagio SalesAnalysis to help analyze trends from sales transactions or statistics. Charts can be displayed, printed or exported. Charts can be automatically opened when SalesAnalysis is launched. Pie, Bar and Trend Line charts can be defined and the definitions imported and exported. Chart security is available by Group membership.
- Added new function User Preferences under the File menu. It allows you to set certain options by user that were previously global, including options previously found under File | Options, Reports | Report Options and from the Company Profile (company background color and On Start-up functions). The preferences can optionally be set for all users and preferences can be printed. If no individual user preferences have been set up for a user, all preferences originally set for the Adagio System Administrator, user SYS, will be used.
- You can now specify a desktop background color, image and/or text constant to display on the Adagio desktop. Use this feature to display your company logo. Use the text strings to make the company name prominent on the desktop. Any JPG or other graphic image can be centered or stretched to fit on the main program desktop. These settings are made on the Appearance tab in the new User Preferences function.
- The option 'Auto-advance smart finder' has been added (in the User Preferences function). It controls whether the focus is on the previously found grid or on the search criteria field when the smart finder is opened. Select the option if you want focus to be on the next row in the grid, allowing you to press F6, Enter and select each item in turn through the found list. Turn it off if you usually want to search by new criteria each time the smart finder is invoked. In either case the position is advanced in the grid each time the finder is opened. When the smart finder Grid is opened, you can toggle the focus between the Grid and the selection criteria by pressing F6.
- The option 'Alphabetically sorted field list' has been added (in the User Preferences function). Turn this option on if you want field lists in the Column Editor and Filters fields sorted alphabetically.
- Column Editor settings are now saved by grid by user by database.
- Added the option 'Exclude Ranges' to Report Options (now in the new User Preferences function). If 'Remember report options' is on and 'Exclude Ranges' is also on, field ranges in general (including date ranges) are not remembered but other report settings are remembered.
- Optional fields have been added to SA transactions records. Added Header Optional Field Titles and Detail Option Field Titles on the Options tab in the Company Profile. Optional fields can be shown in Online Inquiries, Edit Sales Data, GridView and Crystal Reports for Adagio. Optional field values are retrieved from Adagio Invoices and OrderEntry. You can specify which Optional fields are sent to SA from Invoices and OrderEntry in the Company Profile of those modules. The Scan Sales Data function also supports optional fields.
- Header and Detail optional fields to send to SalesAnalysis have been added to the SA Opt. Fields tab added to the Company Profile in Adagio Invoices which appears when SA 9.0A data is present. Header optional fields to send to SalesAnalysis have been added to the SA Interface tab added to the Company Profile in OrderEntry which appears when SA 9.0A data is present.
- Optional Fields have been significantly improved with the addition of edit controls to validate optional field entry within and across an Adagio module(s). Users can control whether a text field, combo box or Finder field is used to validate optional field entries. Data can be restricted as to length and case. Fields shared between modules (customer and item optional fields) will automatically inherit the same validation rules. Module by module control of field entry and validation is available.
- You now have explicit control of how a document record is displayed in the Edit Sales Data grid. File | Edit Styles allows the creation of named styles with a colored background and font color. User control of font attributes bold and italic are also supported. Named styles may be assigned to individual transactions by editing a record or importing the style you wish to use. The style controls the display of a transaction in the grid. For example, use this feature to highlight transactions where the invoice has not been paid. Adagio Styles are shared globally between all Adagio modules and company datasets. Display Styles settings, Manual and Automatic, have been added to the edit order screen. The manual style has been added to the import orders function.
- Display just the records you need in Edit Sales Data grid. User defined filters can select and instantly display transactions that meet specific criteria in a user specified sequence. Column settings are saved by grid for each filter by user by database. Up to 5 selection rules can be defined per filter. Compare data elements to a constant value (Total Invoice > $10,000), another data element (Amount <= Cost) or, in the case of dates, to a “floating date range” (Date is This Week). Grid Filters also allow you sort grids by multiple fields. Grid Filters may be public or private. Filters are refreshed automatically when transactions are retrieved or scanned, and when a Data Integrity Check is performed (including in DataCare) or on demand. Styles can be automatically applied to records that belong to a specific group, making it easy to identify important records according to criteria that you choose. The Display Style may also be set manually in the document. The Apply Styles function in the Maintenance menu allows you to apply multiple filter styles simultaneously. Filters can be toggled on/off on the grids.
- Data Integrity Check (DIC) will automatically reset all filter Styles used based on the Style priority set in the transaction filter. For transactions that no longer meet any filter criteria, any filter style previously assigned to them is removed and reset to the Standard style. No messages or warnings are given in DIC.
- Styles and Grid Filters for customer and item grids are supported in the Customer and Item inquiry functions when Adagio Receivables is 9.0A or higher and Adagio Inventory is 8.1C or higher.
- Item Number segments are available as separate fields in grids, finder, smart finder and GridView.
- Added an Excel Direct button to the Edit Sales Data function. Use the 'Enable SF Export' option in Edit User to enable or disable the Excel Direct button.
- New toolbar icons provide a cleaner look and differentiate this new version visually.
- Grids, filters, and finders now show the lookup values instead of the raw data values for typed fields. For example in SA Transactions: Type shows Line, Misc. Charge and Tax instead of L, M or T; RecordSource shows OrderEntry, Invoices, Imported, etc. instead of OE, QI and IP; and ItemSource shows Inventory, Invoices, Tax, etc. instead of IC, QI, or TX. Lookup values are also shown for customers and items.
- The performance of standard reports has been improved.
Edit and View functions
- The View Customer function in SalesAnalysis supports the option to sort transactions and notes added in Receivables 9.0B.
- Listing button added on the Group Setup window prints all options or enabled options only for a range of groups.
- Display Styles settings, Manual and Automatic, have been added to the edit sales data screen. The manual style has been added to the import transactions function.
- Edit Data supports new the fields in transactions, including Document Number, Customer and Item Report Group, Optional Fields, Original Invoice, PO Number and Display styles.
- The Edit Sales Data function remembers (globally) the choice for sorting the grid.
Transactions file
- Added a 12 character Document Number field to transactions, allowing for the full 12 character document number from Adagio Invoices and in future versions of OrderEntry to be recorded in SalesAnalysis. The document number fields (invoice and credit note number) were sent to the Reference field in SalesAnalysis in previous versions. The Reference field was only 8 characters in SalesAnalysis, causing the document number from Invoices to be truncated in some cases.
- The Reference field has been increased from 8 to 12 characters and is now populated from the Reference field in Adagio Invoices and OrderEntry rather than being set to the invoice/credit note number.
- The Order Number field has been increased from 8 to 12 characters to support a future increase in size of the order number field in OE.
- QI Item field added to accommodate "Composite View" capability in GridView 9.0C and higher.
- Added Item Description field to transactions. Turn on the option 'Use Desc. in SRTRANS' in the Company Profile to use this field. It can be used in the Online Inquiry function, Edit Data, GridView and Crystal Reports for Adagio. The conversion to 9.0A sets it to the item description saved by SA the last time the item was on a document retrieved into SA (i.e. from SA's Item Description file).
- Added Original Invoice field from credit notes to transactions. Conversion sets this new field to blank.
- Added PO Number field to transactions. It is populated on retrieve and scan from customer's PO Number field in Adagio Invoices. It will be used in future versions of OrderEntry. For the current version of OE users typically enter the customer's purchase order number in the Reference field on the order. The conversion sets this new field to blank.
- Added JobCost Job, Phase and Category fields to the transaction file. They are populated by the retrieve and from Adagio Invoices functions. They can be shown in on-line inquiries and the Edit Sales Data function. The conversion sets these fields to blanks.
- Add Customer and Item Report Groups fields to trans file, and Inquires and Edit. The conversion sets these fields to blanks.
On-line Inquiry
- Added 'Use desc. in SRTRANS' option to the Options tab in the Company Profile. If set, online inquiries in SA will use the new item description field in the transaction file. It is set to the actual description from the OE document (which could have been modified from the default IC item description during entry), rather than the item description saved by SA, which comes from OE the last time the item was on a document retrieved into OE. Previous versions of OE did the latter.
- The Date Paid indicator field is now available in On-line Inquiry function allowing you to create inquiries showing transactions for which invoices have or have not been paid.
- On-line Inquiry supports new fields in transactions: Reference, cust and item report group, manual and auto style, Original Invoice, PO Number.
Maintenance functions / Retrieve and Scan Sales Data
- The OrderEntry transaction batch file for SA is now created and updated by Day End in OE, rather than requiring you to print and clear the OE shipment and credit note audit lists before you can retrieve OE transactions into SA. This feature requires OrderEntry 8.1D or higher.
- Added the 'Skip 0 qty/amts lines on Invoices retrieve?' option to the Options tab in the Company Profile. If set, SA does not retrieve detail lines that have zero quantity, amount and cost from Adagio Invoices. Use this option if you do not want Adagio Invoices items that that are text only (no numeric fields) to be retrieved or scanned into SA.
- The Retrieve Sales Data and Scan Sales Data functions support the new fields in transactions when retrieving from Adagio Invoices and OrderEntry support.
- Added 'Update desc. from OrderEntry' and 'Update desc. from Invoices' functions in the Utilities menu. These functions are enabled when you turn on the option 'Use Desc. in SRTRANS' in the Company Profile to use the Item Description field added to transactions.
Archive and Restore
- Archive and Restore functions support all new fields in SA transactions. Note: not all fields can be used as ranges in Archive/Purge/Restore templates but all new fields are archived and restored.
Import and Export
- Import/Export supports Excel® 2007 format (.xlsx) allowing for more than 65,535 rows in import and export files. Spreadsheets no longer need to be re-saved in Excel 97-2003 format (.xls) before they can be imported.
- Import / Export transactions functions support new fields in transactions: Reference, Customer Report Group, Item Report Group, Manual style, Original Invoice, PO Number, and Item Description.
Install Changes
- This version moves toward our goal of a more Windows 7 friendly environment for installation. If you are installing to a mapped network drive that is normally accessible, but you cannot see it during the install when attempting to select a drive or folder, you can now install by browsing to the correct folder using the Universal Naming Convention (UNC), for example myserveraccounting. This avoids having to adjust the User Account Control settings, which requires you to restart your computer and temporarily grant Administrative privileges to the user if they are not an administrator.
- This version simplifies installation by removing any consideration of the location of the Report Tables Drive (RTD) by the install and program in virtually all cases. Therefore the install no longer prompts for the RTD.
- The install writes to the master install log file "AdagioMasterInstall.log" in the softraksystem folder. An entry is written to this log when any full, upgrade or SP for any Adagio module (with a release date of March 2011 or later) is installed. It shows the version installed and the version being replaced, the name of the Windows user who did the install and the rights for that user. An entry is also written to the log when an updated version of the Adagio Data Source (ADS) is installed, showing the version installed and the version being replaced. This log can be used to quickly determine the install history for all Adagio programs.
- When you select the 'Backup Files' option during an install, the replaced files are now saved in a subfolder named YYYYMMDD in the BACKUP folder, under the programs destination folder (rather than the BACKUP folder itself, where extensions need to be changed to .001, .002, etc. when there are multiple versions of the same file).
- The install includes an option allowing you to skip creating entries under Windows Start for cases where you will be manually creating an icon for the user to start Adagio and do not want them starting from Windows Start. During the install, uncheck the option 'Start Menu programs'. This avoids having to delete or change the Windows Start entry that would have been created.
- The install no longer checks the Opportunistic Locking setting (Oplocks) on the workstation.
- The Opportunistic Locking setting (Oplocks) on the workstation is no longer checked when the program is started.
- The System Status function in the Help menu (chksys.exe) no longer prompts you to disable Oplocks. It displays the current Oplocks setting and allows you to change it. The 'Check R/W Status', 'Check Specific Folder' function now supports UNC browse, whereas before you would have had to turn UAC off to use it.
- SetServerForAdagio and SetReportsTablesDrive utilities have been updated. The latter should virtually never be needed at an Adagio site once any Adagio module dated March 2011 or later has been installed.
Problems Fixed
- If 'Purge from Current after days' was set to 0 days in OrderEntry the Ship To code was blank for invoices retrieved into SalesAnalysis.
- The Territory field contained only 2 of 6 characters when transactions when retrieved from OrderEntry and you were using Receivables 9.0A or higher.
- Fixed problems that may occur in Online Inquiries if the Adagio Data Sources (ADS) is version 1.12.54.2681 or 1.12.54.2689. These versions of ADS were installed by Adagio Receivables 9.0B (2010.09.10) and GridView 9.0C (2010.10.14). You can check the version of ADS in the Help | About function from any Adagio module.
- Date fields are now shown (rather than being blank) on the summary in Online Inquiry if the Prefixed Document number has been selected to summarize, as this guarantees the date field will be unique for each document. Otherwise asterisks are shown in the date on the summary.
- When you sent results from an Online Inquiry to Excel, if the Customer field was an exported column, that column heading in Excel wrapped incorrectly.
- When exporting transactions and selecting to export only Items, the very last line of the export was a misc. charge or tax detail.
- Corrected calculation of certain fields that are not included in the import file when importing transactions to a multi-currency database.
- On a multi-currency database, if your import file included the Price List but not the Base Price and the item was not in the alternate price list, the Base Price in source currency is now set to zero rather than the home currency price from the master item.
- A user who does not have access to Item Inquiry with Sales/Costs will have the item costing fields automatically hidden so that access to the column editor may be granted without compromising the confidentiality of these figures.
- A user that does not have access to 'Enable SF Export' could still see the Excel Direct button on both the Summary and Detail screens in the Online Inquiry.
Adagio SalesAnalysis
8.1B | 2010-05-05 (May '10)
Go to top Release Notes Print This
- Compatible with Adagio Invoices 9.0A. Compatibility with earlier versions of Adagio Invoices is maintained.
- Compatible with Windows 7.
- Added an Excel Direct button to various grids, including View Customer and the customer transactions tab for Receivables, OrderEntry, Invoices and Time&Billing transactions. Also the View Item grid. Use the 'Enable SF Export' option in Edit User to enable or disable the Excel Direct button.
- Excel Direct from grids now has a progress bar and cancel for grids with a very large number of rows.
- The Help | About dialog now has a 'System Info' tab showing the version and path to various DLLs used by the program.
- Supports the 'Implied decimal' option added in Ledger 9.0C (in the User Preferences function). The setting is by Adagio user, for all companies, and when set in any Adagio module it is set for all Adagio module versions that support it. Turn the option on if you want a decimal automatically entered before the last two digits. For example, typing 400 in an amount field and tabbing to the next field will result in the number being changed to 4.00; typing 400.00 and tabbing to the next field will leave the number as 400.00. With the option off, typing in 400 will result in the number being changed to 400.00 (the behavior in previous versions). Percent fields and exchange rate fields are not affected by this setting.
- If there are errors during any import function, the error message dialog displaying the error (e.g. "Errors have been written to the log file C:\softrak\data\xxIMPERR.ddd.") now allows you to view or print the log file.
- Added 'Report Preview Options' in the File | Options function to allow you to set the default preview zoom factor (percentage) and preview window state (full screen or partial screen) for previewing reports to screen. These settings are saved by workstation. Note: this applies to previewing reports only (but not previewing statements/letters).
- Typing the Adagio user password on the Open dialog displayed the characters very slowly when on a network in rare cases.
- When you selected Historical transactions for Receivables on the Transactions tab in view customer, loading the grid was noticeably slow when across a network. In addition, if the Transactions tab was the last tab you visited in the customer, the next time you opened a customer it was noticeably slow.
- The 'Last access' date was not updated if the program was started from the Adagio menu of another application or from an icon with parameters that bypassed the login screen. Therefore the field was not up to date on the login screen the next time you started the program.
- Old formats such as Lotus, Dbase and Clipper that are almost never used any more have been removed from import / export templates, leaving Excel, ASCII CSV (Delimited), ASCII Fixed Length and PSV Delimited. The old formats may be manually turned back on for sites that need them. See the Upgrading section below for details.
- Excel Direct (from finders, smart finders and from grids in some modules) can be configured to export an ASCII CSV file (instead of sending data direct to Excel) and start an application that automatically opens the file. This allows export when Excel is not installed and provides support for other spreadsheets such as OpenOffice.org. Note that unlike Excel Direct there is no formatting with CSV. To enable this functionality, entries must be made manually in the file \softrak\system\ssi2xl.ini. Refer to the Configuring Excel Direct to Export to CSV section for details.
- Some of the Standard Reports could not be printed if another program installed a different version of the Crystal print engine Adagio SalesAnalysis 8.1B 2 of 3 SA20100405 03-May-2010 (CRPE32.DLL) in the \windows\system32 folder (\windows\SysWOW64 on a 64-bit OS). SalesAnalysis now loads the print engine from the \softrak\system\win32 folder to avoid this problem.
- The print engine is only installed to the \softrak\system\win32 folder, and not to the \windows\system32 folder, so that it does not affect other applications that may not load it from their own folder.
- Some of the Standard Reports could not be printed if you placed the 8.5 version of the Crystal print engine (CRPE32.DLL) in the \softrak\system\crpe folder for use by Adagio PrintTool, in order for it to print custom reports designed in Crystal Reports for Adagio that use features requiring the 8.5 print engine. SalesAnalysis no longer loads the print engine from this folder.
- The Cost and Base Price fields were not being imported for transactions.
- For single-segment item numbers, the import set the item number to "IC" rather than the item number from the import file.
- If the Adagio Receivables 9.0A data dictionary (@R90A) was installed by installing Receivables 9.0A or OrderEntry 8.1C, and your SalesAnalysis database was interfaced to Receivables 8.1A or older, some of the summary reports in the Standard Reports could not be printed in some cases.
- After printing any Standard Report, printing another Standard Report gave the error message "Critical Error: [1011] insufficient rights to create file in data directory." and the report did not print. Note: This problem was also fixed by installing the System Updater (2009.11.09) or (2009.12.07).
Adagio SalesAnalysis
8.1B | 2009-02-24 (Feb '09)
Go to top Release Notes Print This
- Compatible with Adagio Receivables 9.0A. Compatibility with earlier versions of Adagio Receivables is maintained.
- The Customer Inquiry function supports all the new features in the Customer in Adagio Receivables 9.0A.
- The Adagio Open Data Dialog has been significantly improved. The Previously Opened database list is now saved by Adagio User rather than for all users. The first time an existing user or a new user logs into Adagio SalesAnalysis 8.1B they will be asked “Would you like your historical company access list set up?” Answer yes to have all entries from the Previously Opened list from your prior use of SalesAnalysis copied for your use. You may also elect to have Adagio save your Adagio User Id and Password and default them when logging into Adagio. The saved information is based on your Windows authenticated user name. The Open Data screen and Previously Opened database list now show the date the database was last opened by the user.
- The date control has been updated to improve the speed of data entry. You can enter just the 1 or 2 character day in any date field without having to enter the month or year. The month and year are automatically populated with the initial values from the field. For example, if the date is 1/23/2009, typing “22” and tab changes the date to 1/22/2009. You can also enter just 4 characters for the day and month (zeros are required) and the year will be populated. This change speeds up data entry in most cases where you need to enter a date different than the session date or last remembered date.
- The Data Integrity Check (DIC) function can be set to automatically do a backup of the SalesAnalysis database if there are no errors reported. Set the ‘Auto-backup after DIC’ option on the System Options tab in the Company Profile. The backup details and backup filename are shown in the DIC log.
- A backup is done automatically in the Data Integrity Check when you do a Rebuild on database with errors.
- The options ‘Enable SF Export’ and ‘Enable SF Printing’ have been added to the Edit User screen to allow you to disable Excel Direct in Smart Finders to help safeguard your sales data, customer list and other information in your database.
- The Help Menu has been modified to allow the user to launch the Adagio System Status utility (chksys.exe) and print the Adagio Lanpak registration form.
- The list of printers available from Windows is now refreshed immediately before printing reports and invoices / credit notes. When a user with a shared local printer logs in under Terminal Services the list of printers available to Windows changes because one more printer has in effect been added. If other users were in Adagio applications this resulted in the selected printer being changed in Adagio in some cases. If the user did not notice this and reselect the correct printer before printing then their report or form randomly and unexpectedly printed on a different printer.
- When Adagio GridView 9.0A or higher is opened from the Adagio menu Adagio SalesAnalysis 8.1B will be displayed as the first line on the Select Module screen so you do not need to scroll down to find it.
- The Smart Finder performance has been significantly improved across a network.
- The Help (.CHM) file has been updated. The Import / Export Tech Note for SalesAnalysis on Softrak’s website has been incorporated into the product help.
- The multi-currency files for single currency database are now backed up when you backup a ‘Complete Dataset’.
- WebSafe changed to vitalEsafe™ in Backup function to reflect the 3rd party name change.
- When you size a screen containing a grid, the size is automatically adjusted so that an entire line will be visible for the last grid line. This corrects a problem where double-clicking on a partially displayed last line selected a different line than the one intended.
- The Scan Sales Data function displayed a warning message for every single transaction where the invoice number was greater than 8 characters when scanning an Adagio Invoices database, as the Document Number in SA has a maximum size of 8 characters. The function now has an option to not show this message again. The Retrieve Sales Data function now has a similar option.
- A SalesAnalysis transaction import file has been added to the sample data.
- The arrow buttons in View/Print Statistics became disabled after scrolling in some cases.
- An Online Inquiry for a single customer displayed “Error: 120 Lookup item not found” when you printed a report from multi-currency data in some cases.
- Fixed a problem in the Statistics function where the date range generated from the interval was incorrect, resulting in zeros in the columns. This occurred when the Calendar Type was fiscal, Adagio Ledger 9.0A was used and Next Year was active, and you edited the Report Date to be in the Next Year.
- The Online Inquiry did not summarize properly if the result spanned multiple years and the primary sort was any field other than Customer.
Adagio SalesAnalysis
8.1A | 2008-01-07 (Jan '08)
Go to top Release Notes Print This
- Compatible with Windows® VistaT.
- Compatible with Adagio Lankpaks 8.1A. Lanpaks must be 8.1A or higher for all Adagio 8.1A modules.
- Smart Finder can now search on multiple criteria.
- Contents of disabled fields are shown in blue rather than dimmed gray. This may be easier to read on some monitors at higher resolutions.
- Adagio download files, installs, workstation installs, all workstation install (\softrak\allwkst\allwkst.exe), program files and the Adagio Check System utility (chksys.exe) are now signed with a digital certificate using VeriSign to allow you to verify the Publisher is Softrak Systems Inc.
- Vista does not support the old style Windows Help (.HLP files). All .HLP files were converted to compiled HTML help (.CHM files), which are supported by Vista.
- For security reasons Windows does not permit .CHM help files to be run from a network drive. This is true in XP as well as Vista. The .CHM files must be run from a local drive. Adagio 8.1A installs all .CHM help files to your local hard drive and loads them from there. The workstation install also copies .CHM files to the local drive.
- When switching windows/tasks in Vista with Alt-Tab or the new Flip 3D (Windows-Tab) an image of the current Adagio screen is shown rather than just the icon of the Adagio program.
- You can now backup Adagio data in zip form to WebSafe, a web-based storage facility. WebSafe is a service which allows you to store your important information in a secure location that you can access from anywhere in the world. See www.websafe.com for details.
- The formatting of dates and text sent to Excel from Smart Finder results has been improved.
- Import and Export Transactions functions have been added.
- SalesAnalysis now keeps track of the highest date transaction yet retrieved and uses that date as the default report date for the View/Print Statistics function.

- The Column Editor is now available in the Edit Sales grid.
- SalesAnalysis now supports and uses the Fiscal Calendar from Ledger 9.0A when available.
- You can now see the Invoice Paid field within Online Inquiry.
- You can now select "Show in Summary" for the "Date" field in Online Inquiries. Date can only be shown in the summary as long as it is the first field, otherwise it will be blank. This may be useful for summarizing by Document number, where there is a one-to-one relationship with Date.
- Interfaces to CounterSalesT for Windows from Island MicroSystems Ltd.
- SalesAnalysis no longer requires that CounterSales be interfaced to A/R.
- The summary and detail window form sizes and column widths in Online Inquiry are now remembered when the 'Save window size' option is on.
- The Customer Name is now shown in the Edit SalesAnalysis window title.
- The Set Invoice Paid Indictor function now saves the last run date as the default for the next time the function is run.
- The View/Print Statistics function now defaults the ending date to the highest date of transactions currently retrieved and prevents you from scrolling beyond that date.
- You can now run Set Invoice Paid Indicator function when there are unposted batches in Receivables. A warning will be displayed informing you that the function will not take into account any cash or adjustments in unposted batches.
- Many of the Standard Reports did not work if the Crystal 8.5 print engine (CRPE32.DLL) was manually installed in the \softrak\system\crpe folder for use by PrintTool.
- SalesAnalysis now supports allowing certain GridView workspaces (from the Inquiries menu) to be opened only by users belonging to a particular security Group. This is done by creating a sub-folder under \softrak\srwin\views and naming it the same as the security Group code.
- Item Alerts in View Items were not working for single segment items.
- The default filename for printing to Word now has a .doc extension rather than .txt.
- The decimal was out by a factor of 100 in subtotals in some cases on reports printed from online inquiries that summarized by 2 fields (for example: customer and category).
- The Scan Adagio Invoices function was retrieving Adagio Invoice Item number fields left-justified (without leading spaces) instead of right-justified.
- The YTD range based on the fiscal calendar was not working correctly for intervals of 1 year ago or more.
- The 'Invoice Paid' field showed as 'Paid' in GridView when it was not paid (the 'Translate coded fields' must be on for the view).
- Editing a transaction caused the Due Date and Discount Date to be blank in the record. This could be seen when viewed in GridView.
