User Preferences function allows you to set options by user to tailor the appearance and behavior of Adagio FX screens and reports.
Styles and Filters are available to display accounts in different colors and Filter accounts that meet specific criteria.
Report Favorites allow saving Reports with specific options chosen.
Report Sets allow the grouping of Report Favorites and Statement Groups into a single print job that will run unattended, and may be launched from a command file. A log is generated that records the printing status of each report in the set. Use Report Sets to automate the printing of all your month end reports.
Supports Adagio ePrint and print to the AdagioPDF printer driver.
Automatically retrieve a subset of the G/L into a separate data folder using the /R command line parameter, for example using a Windows task scheduled to run after hours This is useful in cases where you want individual departments to have access to their financial data without having access to the G/L and without seeing other departments.
Compatible with Simply Accounting 2012. Note: Budgets are retrieved as they were entered in Simply - the sign is flipped on Revenue accounts.

And these changes were made in earlier versions:
Version 9.0A | 2011-09-23 (Sep. 23, 11)
NOTE: This version is NOT compatible with QuickBooks.
- Multiple Years of History, including transactions, are now supported and can be retrieved from Adagio Ledger 9.0A or higher and from Simply Accounting.
- Forecasts feature added. Forecasts are similar to Budgets. Use Budgets to hold your original figures and Forecasts for revised budget figures. Both figures are available in the Financial Reporter. Forecasts are retrieved from Adagio Ledger 9.0A or higher.
- Fully compatible with Windows 7. Supports the scaling text feature on Windows 7 ('Large Fonts').
- The Adagio log on process has been improved. The user can be identified through their Windows authenticated user ID using the “remember user name” and “remember password” options on the log in dialog. The Previously Opened database list is now saved by Adagio User rather than for all users. The Previously Opened list also displays the date the data was last accessed by the user.
- The View Transactions/Budgets function has been enhanced. View Account Transactions has Debit and Credit columns instead of one column with positive and negative amounts. The View GL Entry function shows transactions that make up the entry. Forecasts are supported and the Year is selectable on View Budget/Forecast screen.
- Added Import/Export functions for Net Changes, Budgets, Forecasts, Statistics/Net Changes and Transactions.
- Excel Direct from the financial reporter and smart finders can be configured to export an ASCII CSV file (instead of sending data direct to Excel) and start an application that automatically opens the file. This allows export when Excel is not installed and provides support for other spreadsheets such as OpenOffice.org.
- Direct updating of Budget and/or Forecast figures is now possible from within the Financial Reporter. The function =GLUPDATE(spec code, account, amount) allows you to create your budget figures from spreadsheet based calculation amounts derived from your general ledger and write those numbers directly to the budget or forecast “buckets”.
- A new property, 'Edit On Print', has been added to the context menu when cells are selected. Cells with this property may be changed by a user when a statement is opened in “Print only” mode. For example, this allows a user who is restricted from editing statements by security Group to be able to enter and update budget / forecast figures. Cells marked with this property have a yellow background. The color shows up when viewing the spec but does not appear on Print Preview or when printing to paper.
- User level departmental restrictions have been significantly improved. Users restricted to specific departments may now add, modify and delete statement groups. Additionally, if they have modify access to a statement, they may make changes and still be restricted to the departments they are authorized to view. Statement groups may be flagged as only being available to the “SYS” user.
- The cell containing the column specifier in a .ColSpec row can now support multiple values. Drag the values you want available at the top of the column from the “Data View” onto the cell. A drop-down will be created containing all the specification codes selected.
- Multi-year comparative statements are now supported. Virtually any "code" can take a prefix of the form {n} when n is an integer ( 0 to 9) which indicates a "prior year" relative to the selected year. This means that Y or {0}Y is Current year to date and {1}Y is the prior year, {2}Y is two years prior, etc. and {-1} is next year. You can go back as far as you have data in your database, up to a maximum of 10 years can be reported on at one time.
Version 8.1C | 2010-11-29 (Nov. 29, 10)
- Compatible with QuickBooks 2010 and QuickBooks Enterprise 10.0 and earlier versions. The Use Class as Department feature will only work reliably with QB Enterprise.

Version 8.1A | 2007-10-22 (Oct. 22, 07)
- The 8.1A (2007.08.24) release of FX only retrieved from QuickBooks Enterprise. When retrieving from non-Enterprise versions you received the message "[QODBC] Only Licensed for use with Enterprise Version. Please contact your dealer for an upgrade." FX now works with all non-Enterprise versions and an upgrade to QODBC is not required.
- On a newly created dataset the sample specifications were not created and the default Chart of Accounts, Account Groups, Departments, and Statement Groups were not initialized in the Financial Reporter.
- Compatible with Windows Vista and Adagio Lanpaks V8.1A. All Adagio modules are now signed with a Verisign digital certificate, and Help files are now "CHM" format and installed on the local workstation. Alt-tab displays the Adagio screen, rather than the Adagio module Icon when switching between tasks under Vista.
- SmartFinder can now search on multiple criteria. Select up to five separate rules using "AND", "OR", "AND NOT" and "OR NOT" conjunctions between rules. Use SmartFinder to easily create mailing lists and simple reports. Sending a SmartFinder result list to Excel has been improved, with better formatting of dates and numbers.
- Screen displays have been made easier to read, with the font changed to Tahona and disabled text displayed in blue.

- Improvements made to the retrieve from QuickBooks 2007 (US version) when using Classes as Departments.
- Retrieving classes from QuickBooks now supports sub-classes. Classes and sub-classes are now automatically available for departmental reporting and analysis. (Some financial statements may need minor modifications as a result of this improvement.)
- Compatible with QuickBooks 2007 and Simply Accounting 2007. Use the most up to date versions of these two popular accounting products with the world's leading financial statement designer.
- Retrieve last year's data from Simply Accounting. Specify that you want the current or prior year's data to be retrieved to help in creating year end financial statements if the current data has been rolled forward.
- Accounts missing account numbers are now warned about when retrieving from QuickBooks, if you have selected "User defined accounts" on the retrieve dialog.
- See all transactions that contribute to a statement value. Select Tx Details from the right mouse context menu to have all the transactions from all the referenced accounts loaded into a grid.
- Import statements directly from Excel to the financial statement designer, preserving all the formatting. Use your existing Excel-based financial statement templates to get started using Adagio FX.
- A new SmartSheet command, ".ColSpec", allows you to quickly specify or change the amounts retrieved from the general ledger and displayed in a column. New functions have been added for use with .ColSpec feature that allow easy creating of complex formulas to retrieve information from the ledger.
- New sample specifications have been added to demonstrate how the .ColSpec feature works.
- An easy-to-use AutoSum button has been added to the Format menu. This button makes adding SUMs to your financial statement quicker and easier than ever!
- You can now allow users to choose the fiscal period they want when printing Statement Groups.
- A new Duplicate Row command makes copying row contents, including formulas, quick and easy!
- The functionality in importing statements from ACCPAC Plus has now been enhanced. Such statements are now created as SmartSheets and the import results more closely match the original financial statements from ACCPAC Plus.
Within the Financial Reporter...- Dragging and dropping onto a ".ColSpec" row automatically freezes the top rows of the statement. These rows will then act as a statement header and print on every page.
- Force values to be sent to Excel when using the ExcelDirect button. Although you can send calculations to Excel, sometimes it's useful just to send the values from a financial statement to the spreadsheet.
